We’re excited to unveil that New York based SHoP Architects, in conjunction with Australian architects BVN, have been appointed as the winning architect for Avenor’s most recent commercial project – Atlassian’s future global headquarters in Sydney.
The 40-storey building will be the world’s tallest hybrid timber building, will target a 50% reduction in embedded carbon compared to similar conventional buildings and will minimise operating emissions through the use of natural ventilation.
Well done to Atlassian and the whole project team for their commitment to making this vision a reality! Avenor has been pursuing the creation of a tech and innovation precinct for Sydney since 2015, with focus initially on Glebe Island and White Bay Power Station. Atlassian then considered the former Australian Technology Precinct, before settling its sights on Central Station. Avenor, appointed as the whole-of-project development manager, has been working closely with Atlassian and the NSW Government, to turn this vision into a reality.
