$120,000 raised in Wipeout Dementia surfing event
Avenor Director, Peter Clemesha is wrapped with the fundraising achieved from Saturday’s Wipeout Dementia surf competition at Bondi Beach, where he led a team of surf-loving property industry counterparts.
“I’m extremely proud that the event raised $120,000 for the initiative led by the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing. It’s the most successful fundraising we’ve achieved to date.”
“It’s fantastic that the cause is receiving enhanced awareness throughout the corporate community,” Peter said. “There’s a vital need for partnerships between research and business in order for us to tackle the extraordinary challenge dementia provides our community with,” he said.
“CHeBA’s research indicates that a new case of dementia is diagnosed somewhere in the world every 3 seconds, with Australia currently having 244 people each day diagnosed with dementia. The statistics are truly shocking,” added Peter.
